Homicide on Hillview Court

A call came into 911 during this morning’s AM hours, at 2:29, from a 22-year-old male caller from Union City named Elijah Segura. He stated that he was with an injured female victim, age 22, from San Jose.

Segura also stated that he was the person responsible for the victim’s injuries.

The location was the 1000 block of Hillview Court, the location of Hillview Court Apartments, which was recently launched by Santa Clara County to provide shelter to the unhoused as part of California’s Project Homekey. Two Milpitas Police Department (MPD) officers arrived there within three minutes. Segura was instantly taken into custody. His victim, who had what an MPD press release called “significant injuries,” was nearby on the ground.

Officers, followed by paramedics and fire department personnel, attempted to administer aid to the victim. She was then transported to a nearby hospital, where she died.

The suspect and the victim were dating. Said the police press release, “There is no threat to community safety associated to this act of violence.”

Police took Segura to the Santa Clara County Main Jail, where he was booked on Homicide charges.
