Stolen vehicle in Milpitas child’s death found, one suspect identified to public

Yesterday, a stolen vehicle ran into a 7-year-old child in Milpitas. The child died as a result of the crash. At least two individuals were in the car at the time: a San Jose woman (36) who attempted to flee on foot and a blonde man with a hat and glasses, race unknown, who drove away after the woman tried to flee.

Officers apprehended the woman. Today they have released her name: Kristalinna Pacheco. She’s being held at the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges for Homicide, a fatal Hit and Run, and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

Although officers couldn’t catch up to the stolen car’s driver yesterday, they located it today in Newark. It’s a white 2015 Lexus R350 SUV. Nobody was in it when the cops discovered it, but the Milpitas Police Department (MPD) had it towed back into town for evidence processing.

More as the investigation unfolds.
