Milpitas Police Arrest Residential Burglary Suspects

Noises came from the backyard.

A woman — a Milpitas resident — hurried to hide. She dialed the police. It sounded like someone was trying to get into her bedroom…

The date was 1/2/19. Time: 11:38AM. Location: Yosemite Drive’s 2200 Block.

Milpitas Police officers rushed to the woman’s home. Upon arrival, they saw Andre Lamont McBride (23) of Hayward climbing out an open window.

Upon landing out front, McBride saw an officer. He turned and ran, jumping a fence in the backyard then landing in a neighboring yard. More officers awaited him there.

When he tried to run from them, McBride fell into a swimming pool.

The cops arrested him, took him into custody.

Meanwhile, Michael L. Ambrose (22) of Alameda County jumped another fence along the woman’s residence, landing in a different neighbor’s yard.

Officers couldn’t immediately find Ambrose. They soon brought in a police canine. A search of the area led to another yard, where Ambrose was found hiding.

The cops arrested Ambrose, too.

The suspects had jewelry, cash, and other stolen items from the victim’s home on them.

McBride was on probation for a past charge, relating to firearms. Ambrose was also on probation for a firearm violation, and on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.

McBride’s new charges: burglary, conspiracy, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, probation violation. Ambrose’s new charges: burglary, conspiracy, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, probation violation, parole violation.

Both men were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
