Winners of Milpitas Strong Art Contest announced

The winners of the Milpitas Strong Art Contest have been announced.

Back in October, 2020, the public began making submissions in three categories: Adult T-shirt, Adult Logo, and Student T-shirt. The idea was for the designs to foster community pride, explaining what “Milpitas Strong” means to them.

The contest was hosted by Milpitas Community Educational Endowment (MCEE), Milpitas Chamber of Commerce, and The Milpitas Beat.

The contest judges picked seven winners across the three categories.

“The intention of this was to try to bring the community together around the concept of Milpitas Strong,” said Rob Jung, the founder of MCEE.

Jung said that he hoped to make the contest an annual event, and in the future receive wider participation.

First prize winners received $100, second prize winners received $50, and the lone third prize winner received $25. The prizes were all funded by MCEE.

“We felt it would be an investment in the community and in building community,” said Jung, who also hopes to get sponsors for future contests.
