Trader Joe’s is opening this Friday, September 18, in Milpitas

The moment is finally here: Trader Joe’s will be opening its doors in Milpitas this Friday, September 18 at 8am.

The new store — Milpitas’ first ever Trader Joe’s — is located at 1306 Great Mall Parkway. The store is part of the Turing luxury apartment building, which is a component of The Fields project.

At 7:55am on Friday, a brief ceremonial ribbon cutting will occur, and then customers will be allowed inside the store.

At the Milpitas location, social distancing protocols will be in place, as they are across all Trader Joe’s locations.

According to a statement made by Trader Joe’s, the new 15,000 square foot store will “feature artwork that pays tribute to a number of local buildings and landmarks, such as the former local Ford Assembly. Murals will also take customers on a culinary adventure, highlighting local produce and Trader Joe’s products.”

Trader Joe’s in Milpitas will be open every day from 8am-9pm. Senior hours are on Wednesday and Sunday from 8am-9am.

A spokesperson for Trader Joe’s confirmed with The Beat that there is a parking garage for customers, as well as spaces throughout the center.

    • If you pull into the lot, you’ll find they have a lot of parking spaces right in front, near the entrance. And if there’s no room there, you can go in the parking garage!
