Podcast interview with virtual reality artist Parul Wadhwa

We have a very exciting segment on The Bay Area Beat.

Today we are speaking to Virtual Reality artist Parul Wadhwa, a prolific new media artist and immersive storyteller. As an XR producer, her art work includes immersive and interactive digital storytelling, films, virtual and augmented reality and games. She is committed to the use of new technologies (AR/VR/XR) for social impact. Currently, she is a Facebook Oculus Launchpad fellow and in 2017, was a new media entrepreneurial fellow at Catalyst, NYC Media Lab.

Previously, she worked in the film industries in the United Kingdom, South Korea, and India, in film production, color-grading, and digital film restoration.

She holds an MFA in Digital Arts and New Media from the University of California and an MA in English Literature.

 

 

Her work has screened at film festivals, museums and conferences around the world including the MOMA, New York and the American Film Institute, Washington DC.

Her research in new-media storytelling has been felicitated at the Capitol Hill, Sacramento. She is an Interactive Fellow Alumna of the prestigious Tribeca Film Institute and also a European Social Documentary Alumna, Italy. Adam Mendoza is a freelance writer for national and local publications. Originally from Los Angeles CA, he studied Journalism at San Jose State from 1982-1986. Adam’s career has taken him from promotional products and merchandising professional to managing retail operations in Hawaii for nearly 10 years. Over the past few years Adam has been a staunch advocate for promoting student achievement in education and training for the inbound college experience. Recently, he has been working with educators and recruitment professionals featuring high achieving youth in lower economic and at risk areas in a positive and empowering light through various media platforms. His work with Inspire Higher and College Declaration Days has led him down a path seeking stories of inspiration and hope, determination and achievement. Adam also lends his talents to Ad copy-writing, and is a Vocalist performing with various acts in the San Jose Bay Area, as well as a Radio Voice Over Talent. He also finds time to work at Trader Joe’s, an environment he really believes in. He especially enjoys lending his customer service experience and mentoring talents with his fellow crewmembers in Los Gatos CA.
