On August 3rd, Bodhi Meditation Silicon Valley celebrated the 34th anniversary of its founding by hosting a wellness festival, featuring performances, meditation classes, vendors, food, and activities.
The event was well-attended, offering the community a glimpse into the spirit of wellness, culture, and compassion that Bodhi Meditation embodies.
Mayor Carmen Montano and Councilmember William Lam were both on hand to recognize Bodhi Meditation with a commendation.
“I thank Bodhi Meditation for being here in Milpitas to spread your seeds of wisdom and love and compassion,” said Mayor Montano during the event’s opening ceremony.
Councilmember Lam told the audience that he had practiced meditation at Bodhi Meditation several years ago…
“This meditation is a simple yet incredibly powerful practice that can help us cultivate better health and a more mindful lifestyle,” Lam told the audience.
In 2014, the City of Milpitas had officially recognized August 3 as Bodhi Meditation Day.
Every week, the organization hosts meditation and energy healing sessions, along with programs like the 8-Day Health and Happiness Meditation Retreat, which offers students an in-depth experience of self-healing and mindfulness. Bodhi Meditation’s sessions are either free or low-cost, and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds.
