LEGOLAND® Discovery Center will open on May 25 at Great Mall in Milpitas

California’s first LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, located in Milpitas’ Great Mall, has now made annual passes and single-day tickets available.

Initially slated for an April 2020 opening that got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Bay Area will be open for business on Tuesday, May 25. Critical to the site’s operation will be its policy of enhanced cleaning measures, with sanitization ongoing throughout each day.

In a company statement, LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Bay Area General Manager James Judy said, “After a year dominated by virtual learning, we are excited for guests to enjoy a day of togetherness, learning, creating and carefree play. The health and safety of our guests is of utmost importance, and we are taking proactive steps to provide visitors with a safe, comfortable environment.”

The center will be 31,000 square feet, featuring educational and interactive attractions devised for children aged 3 through 10 and their families, including Miniland (a lego-built replica of Bay Area landmarks), LEGO 4D cinema (a movie theater playing a trio of 3D lego-themed movies at 15-minute rotations), a Creative Workshop to learn the fine art of lego building, and Great LEGO Race VR Experience (a virtual reality simulation wherein participants can fly through a lego world).
