Legoland Discovery Center held its groundbreaking celebration at the Great Mall in Milpitas this past Thursday, September 26.
The 31,000 square foot center will officially open in the Spring of 2020, and will include a multitude of interactive possibilities for children and families. It will be the very first center of its kind in California.

New Openings Director Johnny Campbell mentioned that the Legoland Discovery Center would create over 100 jobs.
“Let us celebrate here today the beginning of a relationship that we hope to have for as long as legoes exist,” said Mayor Rich Tran.
Everyone waits for 50,000 lego pieces to be dumped, marking the official groundbreaking of the location. Students from the Stratford School came out to join in on all the fun.
S.J. Sharkie, the San Jose Sharks’ mascot, joined in on the festivities.
