Today on The Bay Area Beat we speak to Alyssa Lynch Superintendent with Metro Education in San Jose.
Metro Ed prepares students to thrive in College and Careers through SVCTE (Silicon Valley Technical Education) and SVAE (Silicon Valley Adult Education).
SVCTE provides eligible high school students an opportunity to succeed in careers and college in a professional, hands-on environment. Courses are offered within a variety of industry sectors. High school junior and senior students can explore and develop technical skills that will lead them to higher education or into the workplace.
For adults, SVCTE offers classes for free or at a very low cost. They are one of the oldest and best known adult education programs in California, providing a supportive learning environment that prepares students to achieve their fullest potential by empowering them with skills to succeed.
At SVAE, students can advance communication, reading, writing, and math skills with adult education courses. Select from English as a Second Language (ESL) courses, Adult Basic Education, or earn your Adult High School Diploma or California High School Equivalency certificate.
