Chick-fil-A opening in Milpitas on June 16

This Thursday, June 16, Chick-fil-A will be opening in Milpitas.

Located in the Town Center at 755 E Calaveras Blvd, the new restaurant will be operating Monday-Saturday from 6:30am-10pm.

To celebrate the opening, Chick-fil-A will be donating a total of $25,000 to Feeding America, in support of the organization’s efforts to end hunger. The restaurant will also be providing free Chick-fil-A meals for 1 year to 100 community heroes who are making an impact on the Milpitas community. In the coming days, the new restaurant will be announcing various community heroes of their choosing; watch for announcements on their Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The restaurant is owned and operated by Chris Johnson, who worked as a real estate broker in the Bay Area then spent about a decade running multiple restaurants on the east coast.

Now Johnson is back in the Bay, and thrilled to be launching this new venture in the Milpitas community:

“I am grateful to be back in California, where I look forward to sharing our great-tasting food and signature hospitality with the Milpitas community,” said Johnson in a release. “Sports have been integral in my upbringing, and I believe we can accomplish great things when working as a team. I hope to provide our Team Members with professional development opportunities where they can grow both in and outside of the restaurant and show care to our guests and our community.”

Johnson is a graduate of Stanford University, where he played football. He is also a world-class triathlete.

For this Milpitas location, the restaurant is hiring around 100 full- and part-time team members.

Chick-fil-A is known for its Original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich and Waffle Potato Fries. They also have a beloved Peach Milkshake that Milpitas guests can come in and order for a limited time.

Starting on Thursday, the Milpitas location will be open for dine-in, carry out, or drive-thru.

Aside from placing them at the restaurant, orders can also be placed on the Chick-fil-A App or made through their website.

  1. How exactly are they defining a “community hero” and where/how are they identified? Are they nominated or you need to be in some VIP circle?
