As State fixes reporting system, Santa Clara County adds 751 new COVID cases

The State of California’s COVID-19 reporting infrastructure is working to emerge from a two-pronged crisis of inaccuracy and underreporting of disease cases. The underreporting stretches back for weeks, and stems from two distinct flaws in California’s CalREDIE reporting system.

Over the weekend, though, the state sent Santa Clara County fresh case info. Accordingly, the county today added 751 new COVID-19 cases to its total, the vast majority of which are from the past seven days.

Some of the new cases, however, date back to as early as a month ago (July 8).

New data from the county is being compiled and is due out soon.
