As Milpitas High School’s (MHS) first International Honor Thespian, Marel Celeste Vazquez has made history.

Back in May, during Senior Awards Night, Vazquez received verbal recognition, along with a small pin to commemorate her achievement.

“I’ve dedicated 1,900 hours of my time to the theater department and loved every second of it,” shared Vazquez. “The theater for me was truly a creative outlet and a place where I could fully be myself even if I was playing a character. This recognition just makes my passion a little more real and tangible.”

During her time as a senior, Vazquez served as President of MHS’ Thespian Society. She will be attending San Jose State University in the fall.
