The City of Milpitas has created a special program for the week of May 3rd to May 9th to encourage fun family (and non-family, if you are single) biking. Each day has its own “event” or theme associated with it.

PEDAL TO THE PAST
SATURDAY, 9:30 AM to NOON
The Milpitas Historical Society is sponsoring the final morning event on May 9th . There will be a special opening of Milpitas’ historic José Maria de Jesus Alviso Adobe, built about 1837. It is located at 2087 Alviso Adobe Court, one block east of scenic Piedmont Road and one block south of Calaveras Blvd. That morning will have perfect riding weather if the current forecast is accurate.

SPECIAL REWARD: Each household who rides on their bike(s) to the Adobe (in one of the City’s public parks) and takes a special version of our regular tour will have their choice of a free copy of either of two historical books: Images of America: Milpitas or Images of America: Alviso (San Jose). As an additional reward, their choice will be personally autographed by former teacher at Samual Ayer and Milpitas High Schools and its author, Robert Burrill, who will be in attendance that day. As an added note, 2026 is the 50th Anniversary of The Milpitas Monster movie, a student project led by teacher Burrill.
May 9th should be a fun and very memorable finale to a week of biking with perfect weather forecast.
