Bystander Intervention Training at the Milpitas Library @ Milpitas Library

If you saw someone being harassed or facing discrimination, would you know how to safely intervene? SCCLD is hosting two Bystander Intervention Training sessions in August, to coincide with Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month. The training will be presented by the Council of American Islamic Relations – San Francisco Bay Area office (CAIR – SFBA).

Participants will learn specific de-escalation techniques to defuse potentially tense situations where someone is being targeted for harassment. The trainings will also provide tips on how to record incidents and when to involve law enforcement.

Milpitas Library will host one session on Thursday, August 22 from 7-8:30 pm. Gilroy Library will host another on Saturday, August 31 from 3-4:30 pm.

Screen! is a quarterly event hosted at the Cinema Exchange in Milpitas. We gather themed short films from local filmmakers and screen them on our 220″ screen. Come out and meet your local filmmakers, enjoy an hour of short films, and mingle with industry peers.

Samuel Ayer High School Reunion @ Extra parking at Rancho Junior High

The 19^th Annual ALL Classes Reunion Picnic will be held at the Murphy Park located at 1567 Yellowstone Ave in Milpitas on September 21, 2019.

This is an open invitation to any and all classmates who ever attended Samuel Ayer High during the years of 1958 through 1982. The hours of the Picnic are from 12:00 until 6:00 PM. Please bring your own food and drink, a comfortable lawn chair and be ready to reminisce with Ayer Classmates. Restoring old memories with people you may have shared a classroom with or were just High School acquaintances. During this time a past Faculty member could drop in for a visit. Please mark your calendar to reserve this date for a great afternoon.
